Frequently Asked Questions
What clients want to know.
Here are answers to questions we frequently hear from families considering working with us.
Who is &Partners and why do you work with them?
&Partners is our broker-dealer and the wealth management platform that provides us with robust technology, investment capabilities, and compliance support. This partnership allows us to offer institutional-quality resources while maintaining the personal, relational service that defines our practice. Your assets are held in custody at Fidelity, one of the industry’s leading custodians, and Compton Wealth, &Partners, and Fidelity work together to serve you.
Do you work with multiple generations of the same family?
Yes, multigenerational planning is a core part of our practice. We currently serve three generations of several families, helping with everything from teaching college students about investing to coordinating estate planning for grandparents.
How do you charge for your services?
We operate on a fee-based structure for our discretionary portfolio management and planning services. We’ll discuss specific fee arrangements during our initial conversation based on your situation.
Will I always work with the same advisor?
Yes. When you become a client, you’ll work directly with Todd Compton and our core practice team. We believe continuity of relationships leads to better outcomes and deeper understanding of your needs.
What makes your work different?
Our focus on relationships and multigenerational planning sets us apart. We take time to know you personally, provide education and mentoring, and create a community atmosphere through regular client events. Financial planning works better when built on trust and genuine connection.
Do you provide estate and tax planning?
We coordinate estate and tax planning strategies but work alongside your estate attorney and CPA. This collaborative effort helps develop integrated strategies while respecting the roles of your other advisors.
What types of investments do you use?
We employ a discretionary method combining active and passive strategies. Our portfolios often include alternative investments alongside traditional stocks and bonds, customized to your goals and risk tolerance.
How often will we communicate?
We maintain contact through scheduled reviews, but we’re also available for questions and concerns as they arise. Many clients appreciate our timely responsiveness and after-hours availability when needed.
